Q.         What is a “Secret Angel?”

             “Secret Angels” provide gifts at the holidays and food and other items throughout the year to help              Northside families feel the love, hope, encouragement and joy that God provides.

 

Q.         How do I help for Christmas?

For each child, please provide:          

2 toys (ANY type – dolls, trucks, board games, sports, art, books, etc.) 

1 outerwear item – Any size – infants to 4x (sweatshirt, jacket, fleece wear, coat)

and $25 for each child for food gift card

For each adult, please provide:

1 practical household item (comforter/sheet/blankets, dishes, pots or pans, etc.)

and $25 for each adult for food gift card

             * Please provide gift wrapping items (paper, bags, tape, tags, etc.) for family to wrap

 

Q.         BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – gift cards for Save-a-lot! 

This makes transportation much easier for all involved; give recipients choice; and supports a neighborhood business that residents depend on all year round. Please bring cash or checkbook in order to purchase Northside Save-A-Lot gift certificates. ($25 per person is requested.)

(Please note: Northside Save-A-Lot does not sell alcohol or tobacco products.)

 

Q.         Can I buy more than recommended?

Yes! Part of the reason we are a Choice Pantry Christmas is to make the distribution more fair and equitable and to make sure everyone who signs up receives something.  We are counting on our donors to make this possible.   Be assured that everything you provide will go directly to parents or grandparents who are choosing the specific gift that they know their child wants or needs.

 

Q.         Should I wrap presents?

No. Please provide wrapping paper, tape, bows, and tags for the family to do this themselves.

 

Q.         Can I deliver to a family?

No.  We cannot facilitate deliveries.  For confidentiality and safety, all distribution goes through CAIN.  NEW THIS YEAR!!! BECAUSE WE ARE NOT MATCHING SPECIFIC FAMILIES WITH DONORS – ‘SECRET ANGELS’ CAN VOLUNTEER 9:00am-1:00pm AT THE “SECRET ANGEL SHOP.” Please call or email in advance if you want to volunteer.
