Q. What is a “Secret Angel?” “Secret Angels” provide gifts at the holidays and food and other items throughout the year to help Northside families feel the love, hope, encouragement and joy that God provides.
Q. How do I help for Christmas? For each child, please provide: 2 new gifts (toys of ANY type – dolls, trucks, board games for younger children Jewelry, watches, cosmetics, electronics, toiletries, sports items – for teens) 1 new hooded sweatshirt – adult sizes only needed – Large to 4xl (We have already received a generous donation of children sizes) For each adult, please provide: 1 practical household item (comforter/sheet/blankets, dishes, pots or pans, etc.) Two (or more) cleaning items (laundry and dish detergent are most requested) Please make a financial contribution for food gift cards for families – we will divide donations received and divide among families. PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU ARE ABLE!
Q. BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – food gift cards! This makes transportation much easier for all involved and gives recipients a choice. Please bring cash or checkbook in order to purchase gift certificates – all funds collected will go directly to families. We will only be able to give out what we collect this year. Please be as generous as you are able.
Q. Can I buy more than recommended? Yes! Part of the reason we are a ‘Choice Pantry Christmas’ is to make the distribution more fair and equitable and to make sure everyone who signs up receives something. We are counting on our donors to make this possible. Be assured that everything you provide will go directly to parents or grandparents who are choosing the specific gift that they know their child wants or needs.
Q. Should I wrap presents? No. This year, instead of wrapping items, we are providing cleaning items that our guests request.
Q. Can I deliver to a family? No. We cannot facilitate deliveries. For confidentiality and safety, all distribution goes through CAIN. ‘SECRET ANGELS’ CAN VOLUNTEER AT THE “SECRET ANGEL SHOP!”
